For Adults
Christian discipleship is critical in living the life of faith. When God calls each of us into a loving relationship with Him through Jesus Christ, we begin a life-long process transformation. With the help of the Holy Spirit, our walk grows clearer and stronger each time we study His Word. Westminster encourages every adult to grow in their faith and discipleship through Bible study classes, small groups and fellowship opportunities. In each of our offerings, our prayer is that people will grow in their understanding of how faith and daily life intersect.
Adult classes on Sundays from 10:10 to 11 a.m.
Our spring offerings (March 18 to May 13) are:
THEOLOGY 101
Launch down a road of becoming more familiar with the various thoughts of the study of God. Do you know the difference between process theology and systematic theology? Have you explored liberation or feminist theology? This class will bring you new information and build your understanding of God. This might create a hunger to begin your seminary career :) Various texts will be used and much discussion is encouraged.
Facilitators- Doc Winter and Rev. Jacobs Meets in Room 216
THE BOOK OF ACTS
In the fall, we studied the gospel of Luke. This spring, we’ll examine Luke’s second book: Acts. In Acts, Jesus’ resurrection and ascension become the beginning of the story of the Holy Spirit’s role in the formation and spread of Christianity. We’ll study the conversion of Paul, the activities of the disciples and the stories of early Christians. The book of Acts has a tremendous amount to teach us about how we should live our lives as contemporary Christians. Facilitator- Rev. Young Meets in the Chapel
