For Children
Children are an important part of the church community at Westminster. We value their unique gifts and treasure their journeys of faith formation. Opportunities are provided for children to grow in their relationship with God through worship, Bible study, community fellowship, and mission outreach. We work hard to meet each child at his or her level and we encourage them as they grow in faith and love. Our children are also highly involved in our music ministry. Wednesday Discovery Night
Each Wednesday, children, ages 3-5th grade gather with their families for a 5:00 meal in the Social Hall. Children are dismissed at 6:00 to their classes for the Wednesday Discovery Night program. During this time, kids learn about the mission of God and how they can be a part of that mission. Preschool-5th Grade children learn about a different country each month and how missionaries help share God’s love in that country. During this time, children make new friends and grow in their relationship with God and one another.
Sunday School
Sunday School classes are offered for children ages 3-5th grade at 10:10 each Sunday. Children are engaged in a wide variety of activities suitable to various learning styles as they explore the Bible and their relationship with Jesus through worship, study, and reflection together on the word of God.
Vacation Bible School
VBS is a summer program for children ages 3-5th grade. The VBS program reaches out to our congregation and wider community as children come together for an action-packed week filled with crafts, music, drama, recreation, and games. All activities are designed to build a new relationship with friends and Jesus through the lessons found in God's word.
Wacky Wednesdays
Each Wednesday afternoon in June, 1st – 5th graders are invited for an afternoon of fun outside of the church walls. Activities include swimming, going to the movies, and miniature golf. Cost varies.
Fall Fest
In September, families are invited to Heritage Farms for dinner and a barnyard bash! Horseback rides, hay bail climbing, hayrides, and a campfire sing along, are just a few of the wonderful activities available for kids and their families.
5th Grade Lock In
In October, all 5th graders spend the night in the church. We will play games, make crafts, watch a movie, and stay up late!
Parents’ Night Out
If you are a Westminster parent and need a night out, have we got the event for you! At the end of November each year, children enjoy a fun filled night learning about and preparing for Advent while parents can enjoy the evening away. Kids come for dinner, crafts, cookie decorating, stories, games, a movie, and tons of fun.
