For College & Career
Chayyim (Hebrew for LIFE; it’s pronounced Hi em)
Our college and career age group is designed for students, people in their twenties including young married couples with no children who. The group meets on a monthly basis and enjoys a time of fellowship and take part in rewarding and meaningful activities. Past and future activities include service projects, game nights, and group outings.
We work hard to maintain meaningful ties with our Wes Pres youth who head off to college, to let them know that we stand with them in support of their new journey.
- Scott Cost hosts a special dinner for those going off to college to show support and encourage our young people to keep their faith alive as they enter a new chapter in their lives.
- Each fall, the high school youth of Westminster assemble and pack care packages for our college students and military personnel. Delivery is timed so they’re received just prior to finals and the holiday season. We include notes reminding the students and military personnel of our prayers and support.
- Whenever possible, the college students gather with Scott during Christmas break to catch up, share stories and talk about faith.
We are currently working with UNI’s Inter Varsity Fellowship to build an outreach ministry at Hawkeye Community College. A Valentine-themed event will be held there in February.
