On October 18 we will commence our Stewardship Challenge for 2016. It is a season that some dread; I invite us as a congregation to instead embrace this season as a time to grow in our love of God and each other. The Stewardship team has worked hard to develop a plan that will challenge you as well as give our congregation an opportunity to rejoice in the blessings we have. What does it mean to be generous? What does it mean for us to sacrifice so that others can learn about God's grace and purpose for their lives? During our Stewardship season we'll hear stories of lives changed because God's spirit is moving in our midst. How will we continue that movement in even deeper ways? You are called to make a difference for Christ, what a privilege!
I sincerely hope that you will prayerfully consider your role in the future of the ministries of Westminster. With your gifts and sacrifice, we can be generous and strong as we respond to the call of God to change lives for the gospel. Our lives come together at 1301 Kimball Ave, however, our impact does and needs to continue to go out into the Cedar Valley, and across the seas to people who need to know we care and we love as Christ first loved us.
My prayer for our congregation during this season of Stewardship is that we open our hearts to the possibility of how many lives could be changed as we simplify our lives and become more generous with our spirit of giving.
Fasten your seat belt for this will be a surprising and incredible time for our congregation.
With great HOPE,
