9 The human mind plans the way, but the Lord directs the steps.
I invite you to join with me in a great spirit of anticipation as we look to the year ahead! 365 days to grow stronger as we believe, become, belong and build together. Our sermons will take us to the 1st century as we explore Jesus' modeling to us how to love others. Start reading chapter one of Mark today! Engagement will be the word for our year as we work hard to connect our lives to Christ and to each other as we serve God together.
An exciting new ministry begins which is part of our vision as we'll join with other Cedar Valley Presbyterian Churches for a weekly community meal called Sunday Supper. The first gathering will begin on January 10 at First Presbyterian, Waterloo. Have you let coordinator Angie Andrews know yet that you would like to help in the future? Her email is firstname.lastname@example.org and phone number is 290-3120. Contact her and she'll be sure to get you on the schedule.
Please make a sincere effort to be informed of the many other ways you can truly be engaged in the ministries of the church and look to God each morning to direct your steps. A heartfelt thank you to all of you who worked so hard during the Advent season to provide for all a very meaningful time which included Cocoa & Carols, the Bell festival, Choir Cantata, Brunch, 3 Christmas Eve services and the Christmas Day Dinner which served over 500 people. I also appreciate the unanimous support of the North Central Iowa Presbytery who voted to approve my call as Senior Pastor/Head of Staff on December 13th. Please put Sunday, March 6 at 3 pm on your calendar for my installation. It will be a meaningful time as we look towards an abundant future together.
Trusting in God's plan,
