The month of May brings a holiday to us, not a holiday that brings out the cards at Hallmark or long lines at HyVee, however, it is a tremendously important holiday for us as people of faith, Pentecost. Taken from the Greek word Pentekostos, it means 50 days. Pentecost occurs 50 days after Easter and it celebrates the day in which those gathered were filled with the Holy Spirit and the Church was born.
So what passion, what excitement do we bring to this Holy Day? At Westminster we'll be celebrating our graduates, we'll also be blessed by our youth choir with their musical, Soul on Fire. Later in the day, we'll welcome those who would like to inquire about membership at Westminster Church as we widen the circle of faith here on Kimball Ave. Glorious news!
Reflect on your heart and recommit yourself to living a life of faith and passion for Christ and his Church. On a personal note, thank you for your support and prayers for my doctoral defense, I did pass and May 14 will bring my graduation in Kansas City. It has been a community effort so know that you are all in my heart as I receive my doctoral hood.
With a grateful heart,
